Universities around UK are going for (ASOS) “Action short of strike” on: Thursday 24th November, Friday 25th, and the following Wednesday 30th of December 2022. The action includes London Metropolitan University in Holloway Road.

During a class break time, just a week before the action takes on, the teacher said: “I am not going to lie, ‘is quite good to work here.’ [ London Met] compared to other places a have worked.”

The source adds: “believe me, there are other bad places to work out there”

“I will not work next week, because as you know; it would be hard to pass the picket, see and ignore your colleagues,” the teacher said.

The teacher said that there are other people whose revindications' are far more important and they need to be heard.

According to an email, released by one of the tutors on 22nd of November, to inform London Metropolitan students, the University and College Union (UCU), claims are: Casualisation, Inequalities, Workload, and Pay Nationally and at London Met.

Biggest ever picket lines

UCU general secretary Jo Grady said: “Campuses across the UK are about to experience strike action on a scale never seen before. 70,000 staff will walk out and make clear they refuse to accept falling pay, cuts to pensions and insecure employment.”
